General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Enlargement of the heart is an indication of impaired cardiac function where the heart is unable to pump blood properly and therefore the heart size increases.

It can be due to defective valves or due to blockage of arteries supplying the heart.

I would advise you to get yourself checked by a cardiologist who may advise a diagnostic angiography.

You may be needed to be put on B blocker to regulate your heart rate. I hope that answers your question.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nazma.amman, General & Family Physician
